Weighted blankets have been sold as anxiety cures, which they are not. What the Cozlo is: a heavy, well-stitched blanket that stays put, does not leak glass beads and survives a washing machine. Four months of nightly use, plus one accidental week on a sofa.

How we tested

140 consecutive nights, with a fortnight of tracking sleep onset via a wearable for a rough before-and-after comparison. We also washed it three times following the care label, and cut one seam open at the end to inspect bead integrity.

Does the weight do anything

Subjectively, falling asleep felt marginally easier and there were fewer mid-night wakeups in the first three weeks. Objectively the difference was small and within normal variation. What it definitely does is make a bed feel finished. If you like tucked-in weight, this delivers.

Build quality

The baffle construction is the important detail: seven layers of pockets means the beads cannot all end up in one corner. After three washes they had not. The removable cotton cover is the difference between a washable blanket and a laundrette trip.

Where it falls down

Heat. This is a winter object. In a warm bedroom it becomes a trap, and there is no breathable version with the same weight. Buy the 4.5kg if you run hot.
